Ms. Candice Cadran
English Teacher, Benjamin Franklin Academy
Ms. Cadran is excited to join the school's English department and share her passion for literature, writing, and learning with her students. Originally from western Massachusetts, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Her career has taken her around the world, including ten years teaching English abroad and eight years serving as a school principal in Saudi Arabia, experiences that have given her a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
Ms. Cadran believes that every student can grow as a reader, writer, and critical thinker when given encouragement, meaningful challenges, and engaging instruction. She is passionate about creating a classroom where students feel supported, inspired, and confident as they build their skills. She especially enjoys teaching literature and poetry and helping students discover the power of language to express ideas, explore history, and better understand themselves and others.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Cadran loves to travel and has visited more than 40 countries. She enjoys gardening at her home in Boscawen, New Hampshire, reading, playing cards, and spending time at the theater. A lifelong lover of the arts, she has attended many Broadway productions, performances in Boston, and local theater shows, and has explored museums around the world to experience some of history's greatest works of art. She looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for literature, culture, and lifelong learning with her students throughout the school year.
