With more than 25 years in education and over 20 years of prior experience in advanced manufacturing and engineering, Mrs. Marcou brings real-world industry expertise into the classroom. She’s taught computer science, mathematics, engineering, robotics, and other STEM related topics with a focus on helping students develop the technical and professional skills, problem-solving abilities, and consumer awareness and creativity needed for success in our 21st century world.
Mrs. Marcou holds an Associate of Science in Technology, Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education, and Master of Education in Educational Leadership all from Keene State College, and maintains New Hampshire teaching certifications in Computer Science, Technology & Engineering Education, Advanced Manufacturing, and Educational Leadership, with a Statement of Eligibility in General Special Education. Throughout her career, she’s taught at the middle school, high school, adult education, and college levels, including providing dual-enrollment opportunities for students through New Hampshire's community college system.
Before becoming an educator, Mrs. Marcou spent more than two decades at Timken Super Precision in Keene, her hometown, working in quality assurance, metrology, process engineering, technical training, and front-line manufacturing. This industry background is helpful when making connections during classroom learning with authentic engineering and technology applications.
Mrs. Marcou remains active in professional organizations and curriculum development activities. She’s served as an AP Computer Science Principles Exam Reader, and holds professional certifications in Project Lead The Way, cybersecurity, and computer science education. In 2024, while serving as the CTE Computer Engineering program teacher at the Concord Regional Technical Center, her program was honored with the Program Excellence Award from the International Technology & Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA).
In her free time she enjoys listening to audiobooks, sewing and quilting, upcycling, and participating in activities with her children and grandchildren. In school, her goal is to inspire students to become curious, confident learners and creative problem-solvers who are knowledgeable and skilled in all things related to technology so they are able to develop the confidence required to adapt to an ever-changing technological world.
