Ms. Paloma Rocha brings a global perspective and deep passion for science education to Benjamin Franklin Academy. With a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Faculdade São Bernardo and two master’s degrees—one in Education from Estácio de Sá and another in progress in ESL Education at Southern New Hampshire University—Ms. Rocha blends rigorous academic knowledge with a love for hands-on, student-centered learning.

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Ms. Rocha has taught Chemistry and general science in a variety of settings, including public schools, technical institutions, and online classrooms. She is known for her engaging use of experiments and technology to make scientific concepts accessible and exciting. Fluent in both English and Portuguese (and conversational in Spanish), she brings inclusive, multilingual support to her students and creates a welcoming learning environment for all.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Rocha has contributed to science fairs, advised school chemistry clubs, and led innovative student research projects, including a university scholarship-winning study on the properties of Coriandrum. Her academic curiosity is fueled by continuing education in neuroscience, laboratory teaching, and STEM-focused English instruction from institutions like the University of Amsterdam, University of California Irvine, and University of Pennsylvania.

At BFA, Ms. Rocha is excited to foster curiosity, resilience, and academic excellence in every young scientist she teaches.
