Mrs. Tabbitha Farmer
Art Teacher
Mrs. Farmer is a dedicated and passionate individual who has navigated a dynamic career path, ultimately leading to her true calling in education. After graduating high school, she obtained her Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification through the Red Cross. While raising her young children, she took a temporary break from nursing to focus on her family and further her education. During this time, she worked as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at a collision center and later at a propane company.
In addition to her CSR roles, Mrs. Farmer explored her creative interests by baking and selling cakes, practicing photography, and participating in crafting classes and craft fairs. As her children grew older, she returned to the medical field as an in-home healthcare aid until the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a shift to homeschooling her children. This experience ignited a newfound passion for education within her.
When schools reopened, Mrs. Farmer responded to the demand for paras and substitutes at Pittsfield Elementary School. Shortly after, she discovered BFA, which aligned perfectly with her educational values. Six months into the school year, she was offered a part-time position assisting with math and English instruction. Recognizing her enthusiasm for teaching and hands-on learning, she was presented with the opportunity to become the art teacher, a role that harmonizes her creative spirit with her passion for education.
